Ductless Mini-Split

What is a Ductless HVAC System?
A ductless mini-split, is a type of air-conditioning and heating system that uses individual, wall-mounted blowers to provide temperature control in one room or area. Instead of using ductwork, the individual units are connected by a refrigerant line set to a single outdoor condensing unit. These systems are a great option for room additions, sunrooms, garages or areas of the home not serviced by ductwork that need to be warmer or cooler.

How does a ductless mini-split system work?
A ductless HVAC system works by circulating refrigerant through a line set connected to one or more indoor air handlers. The air handler is typically mounted on an interior wall, and it collects and circulates the cooled or heated air throughout the room. The refrigerant is then returned back to the outdoor condensing unit, it is compressed and circulated back to the indoor units in a continuous cycle. This process of transferring heat from indoors to outdoors helps keep your home’s temperature at ideal levels.

Types of mini-split systems
Ductless systems are configured in several ways. There are ductless air conditioners, ductless heat pumps that can both cool and heat a room, as well as ductless zoning systems that allow you to tie several rooms together.

Installing a ductless mini-split system
If you’re interested in installing a ductless HVAC system, it’s important to consult with an experienced technician who can help determine the best type of unit for your needs, as well as make sure that the installation is done correctly and safely. Additionally, proper maintenance is important to ensure that your ductless HVAC system runs efficiently and effectively.

Ductless mini-split system maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential for keeping your ductless HVAC system running efficiently. This includes changing the air filters regularly, as well as checking and cleaning the evaporator and condenser coils. Additionally, you should make sure that the refrigerant levels are correct and that all parts of the system are in good working order. An experienced technician can help you with this process if needed.

Overall, a ductless HVAC system offers many benefits for homeowners looking to maintain comfortable temperatures in their homes without using traditional central heating and cooling systems. However, it’s important to consult with an experienced professional before installing one of these systems in your home. With proper installation and regular maintenance, a ductless HVAC system can provide you with efficient, cost-effective temperature control for years to come.
